Welcome to The Plough Inn!

The Plough Inn is located in the Somerset village of Congresbury and has been a pub since the 1800s. Unusual today for being made up of several interlinking small rooms we enjoy an atmosphere that harks back to older times while enjoying modern comforts.

Our pub is renowned for cask conditioned beer from local and regional brewers and we figure in many national guides. We have a team of talented chefs and are proud of our increasingly widespread reputation for the quality of our meals.

For the warmer months we have a large and sunny garden set well back from the road.

Flair and Charm at The Plough Inn

We aim to ensure your time with us is relaxing and enjoyable. During the colder months a real log fire and candles on the table sets a warm welcome

Real Ales

At the heart of The Plough is our range of cask conditioned beer selected from West Country brewers such as Yeovil Ales, RCH. Butcombe, Cheddar Ales, Otter and St Austels among many others. We are once again in CAMRAs Good Beer Guide and keep six beers on tap in the best of condition.

Happiness on a plate or in a glass

From a pint and a panini for lunch or Calves Liver with Butter, Sage and Bubble and Squeak from our evening menu and our Chefs Peter and Nicky Jane or Venison Steak with Black Peppercorn Sauce from our Specials Board with a glass of Shiraz The Plough offers that little more. Our pudding board has Guiness and Chocolate Cake and New York Style Cheese cake among other dishes from Sharon - our pastry chef.
